In this lamp, the aim was to give form not to the illuminating function, but to the delicate balance between what we see and what the object conceals. Tru is a floor lamp that draws the eye with its rigorous geometry, described solely by a slender metal ring and the blade of light it emits from an almost invisible vertical opening. Positioned freely in a room, it appears as an impalpable luminous sign, while near a wall or another reflective surface it seems to create its own background of light to visually detach itself. Tru is a mimetic object, barely visible when off, a functional, rational and discreet piece that when switched on surprises and reveals itself in its full force. A force that stems from contrasts: power within an extremely slender structure, luminous fullness born from structural void, a strong environmental presence resting on a single square decimetre.
