In 1992, dissatisfied with the inhumanity expressed by postmodern buildings, Frank Gehry revolutionized the world of architecture with a dynamic fish-shaped sculpture, El Peix in Barcelona, seemingly poised to dive into the waters of the Mediterranean. The project was accompanied by these words: «we live in an age where everything moves very fast. There is a way to express this movement, I decided that the fish was the model for the future of architecture because it expressed sculptural movement.» Drawing inspiration from the world of dynamic structures, projected towards a precise direction, Dive was designed as a shell in motion protecting the water softener valve, characterized by taut lines oriented towards the user. A plastic form that itself seems to dive into the hands of whoever uses it.
